Grant has recently been complaining that he doesn't like school ( Translation: PRESCHOOL), that it takes too long. That's his main complaint- it "takes too long". We have some bad news: You're in Preschool... which means, you're not even to the mainstream yet.
Tonight he has this conversation with Ryan previously, but with me via phone he said:
"Mom, I don't want to go to school anymore.. it takes too long. "
Me: Why do you think it takes too long?
G: " It takes too long we have to eat snack, then clean up, then go to the library and listen to a story and then have recess- It just takes too long" and I had to do homework"
Me: Well, all those things sound fun, I would like doing them...
G: "Mom, how much longer to I have to go to school?"
Me: Well, you will be going to college ( never miss the opportunity for reinforment!), and maybe grad school, so I would say you'd be done by the time you're 25.
"How old are you now?"
G: 4
Me: So that means you have about 20 years to go.
At this point ,he started crying and continued to mope and complain. When I said goodbye and "i love you" he said "Well, I Don't love you".
Ah, well, I guess on the positive side, he might still believe I control the universe. I'll go with that for now. I'm not quite sure what he thinks he would be doing if he wasn't in school.
